please remember that a number of years ago Turf Queensland lobbied and had a fight to get a Primary Producer Status delivered for the Queensland turf producers and won that in the Queensland Parliament, it is now a matter of record and in Hansard.
“Days of argument between the Queensland and Federal governments over cyclone relief funding has ended with a decision to approve Category C funding for primary producers severely impacted by Cyclone Debbie and the flooding that resulted.
The decision meant farmers from the Whitsundays to the Gold Coast could apply for grants of up $25,000 to help with the clean-up and recovery”

Category ‘C’ has been announced for the following Shires and part Shires. This means eligible growers can apply for grants of up to $25,000.

Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements. Under the joint Australian Government-State Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA), assistance is provided to alleviate the financial burden on states and territories.

The Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) are a joint funding initiative of the Commonwealth and State Governments to provide disaster relief and recovery payments and infrastructure restoration to help communities recover from the effects of natural disasters.
NB: You have until 4 October 2017 to lodge a claim for DRP in the Gold Coast City, Logan, Mackay and Scenic Rim local government areas.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade will replace passports that have been lost or damaged in declared natural disasters free of charge, visit the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website.
Recovery grants of up to $25,000 are also available for eligible primary producers in the ten (10) local government areas of Logan, Mackay, Scenic Rim and Whitsunday, and parts of Central Highlands, Gold Coast, Isaac, Livingstone, Lockyer Valley linking to Scenic Rim and Woorabinda.
In addition to this, recovery grants of up to $25,000 are also available for eligible small businesses and non-profit organisations in the local government area of Whitsunday.
